We are heartbroken
Audrey Palm Riker Vizzard may she Rest in Peace.
We are heartbroken to share the passing of Audrey Palm Riker Vizzard—a woman whose wisdom, faith, and quiet strength quite literally brought Home 2 Home to life.
Audrey wasn’t just an early supporter. She was the reason this organization exists. A mix-up at another event connected us, and from that unexpected meeting came something extraordinary. Audrey not only believed in the mission—I didn’t even fully have the words for it yet—but she believed in me. At a time when I doubted myself and nearly walked away, her encouragement and her generous gift gave us what we needed to get off the ground.
There is no Home 2 Home without Audrey. There are no before-and-after photos on our social media. There are no beds delivered, no families restored with comfort and dignity. Her belief lit the first spark—and we have been building warmth and hope from that light ever since.
Please take a moment to read the beautiful reflection Audrey wrote for her own eulogy. It captures the heart behind our work better than we ever could. Her spirit lives on in every home we touch, and we will carry her legacy forward, always.
Also, I would be remiss not to mention Audrey’s daughter, Susan Dolan. Getting to know her has been one of the unexpected gifts of this journey. Susan is deeply accomplished, radiant with both inner and outer beauty, and a person whose quiet strength and grace leave a lasting impression. I feel truly lucky to be in her orbit.
Susan was with her mother every day over the past several years, walking beside her with unwavering love and care. She is the kind of daughter every mother hopes for and every daughter should strive to be. I’m especially grateful to Susan for all the times she shared our mission and accomplishments with Audrey. Because of her, Audrey knew the impact her early belief helped make possible. I will forever be thankful to Susan—for her heart, her faith in our work, and the quiet ways she’s helped carry this legacy forward.
Gratefully and Until We Meet Again,
Janelle Towne
